Kilimanjaro Safaris, an attraction for Guests of all ages, provides the chance to see African animals including giraffes, black rhinos and lions, as they roam the 100-acre savanna in the Africa area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. The Kilimanjaro Safaris tour begins in the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, across the river from Discovery Island. Climb aboard a rugged open-sided safari vehicle for an exciting expedition through the wildlife preserve. The ride can be a bit bumpy as it crosses rickety bridges, rocky hills and rivers—but you’re rewarded with spectacular animal sightings. Since animals have minds of their own, no two Kilimanjaro Safari experiences are the same. You may even catch a glimpse of one of the many baby animals that were recently born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Perhaps you’ll see one of these species: •Antelope •Baboon •Black rhino •Cheetah •Crocodile •Elephant •Flamingo •Gazelle •Giraffe •Hippopotamus •Lion •Okapis •Ostrich •Warthog •White rhino •Wildebeest •Zebra The attraction concludes when your tour guide receives word that poachers have taken a baby elephant from its mother. We arranged for a one hour tour of Saratoga Springs, a timeshare on the lake across from Downtown Disney. We have seen other timeshares and agreed they are usually not good investments. Anyway, we did the tour out of morbid curiosity and the fact that it was a Disney resort. They sent a van to our resort and drove us over to the sprawling 1000 room resort. Boardwalk Villa. If you stay at the Inn, it gets a little cramped. The Villa is very open, and has a lot of space.

This is a review of DVC’s new Animal Kingdom Villa’s in the Jambo House of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This is currently available only to DVC Members and their guests.
